Happy moments when you get posted for oversea assignment.
단점:They make you work like hell despite the staff is over-worked and health is impaired. The company don't treat you well. Partner only cares about their billing target and always hungry for business. There is a 2-year contract and a laptop scheme. In short, you are paying for the laptop for 3 years. Every staff has "billing target" so if I am given a files with a lot of mess and imagine the audit fee is low. It is... hard for me to achieve that. My colleague will not help me if I don't share my audit fee with them. So what teamwork is there? Other colleague has their off peak, while I am still clearing the audit points. Plus we are treated like an admin staff. Plus not to mention that I have to clear so many rounds of review points - manager/Partner/QC partner. Partner can go on long holiday but when the staff clear leave, that Partner make noise! When my colleague left, they took 3 months to replace a staff. Luckily I moved on to big 4.

단점:Salary is relatively low compared to the amount of work. Of course, it applies to all the audit firms, but compare with other mid-tier audit firms in Singapore, they are paying relatively low salaries.

1. Culture – The environment encourages pro-active learning with a lot of guidance provided from the managers and partners to aid you through the steep learning curve. Team work is strongly emphasised in the organisation and for first year audit assistants, they are each assigned a buddy to simulate them into the company and to provide guidance and on the job training (eg. Familiarisation with the RSM audit... methodology, standard operating procedures/protocols, admin matters, how to resolve audit issues, etc) 2. Open door policy – Given the family oriented culture in the company, we are always not afraid to walk in our partner’s room for discussion of matters, be it audit related matters or any issues faced during our career in the organisation. Amidst their busy schedule, they are always willing to spare time for you as your well-being and any issues/concerns you have matter to them. 3. Career progression – As the company is a large SME and in line with expansion plans, there is definitely room for progression in this company based on merit. Together with our managers and partners, as long as career goals and expectations of the employee are aligned with those of the company, ways will be worked out with management to enable the employee to further realise his/her potential in the organisation. 4. Empowerment – As the auditors are 90% of the time out at client’s place to conduct the financial audits, trust in the employee forms the foundation in this organisation. Empowerment is given to the employee to manage his/her schedule without compromising the quality of work and timeliness of deliverables if the employee has proven his/her credibility thus far.
단점:1. Open culture of upward feedback – In the last 4.5 years of my career, appraisal sessions between the employee and management has been a downward feedback model, with the manager/partner providing comments on the performance of the staff and suggestions for room for improvement. It was a one way feedback rather than a two way feedback whereby management too, gets feedback on their performance in terms of eg.... management style and room for improvement. However, just recently, the company has implemented a 2 way feedback to obtain feedback from the employees on how management can do things better and to align goals. The company is also encouraging a more open culture on upward feedback and transparency in the organisation. 2. Long working hours – Given the nature of the audit industry and with expansion growth plans of the company (with an exponential increase in new clients on-board), employees may face long working hours and overtime hours depending on the nature of the audit engagement given to them (eg. Listed companies, IPOs have tighter deadlines to be met). Not only the employee, but the manager and partner on the audit engagement work together to meet deliverables set out. This may be a challenge for some, however, on a positive note, these challenges will in turn help the employee growth and develop their potential in their career.

I'm fortunate that the people in my team are nice. And that's pretty much it for the pros.
단점:Poor starting salary - Senior partner says it's a tradeoff for "better clientele".... but honestly I don't see any good clients in my department. Their accounts are so messy, figures dont tie, missing files, etc. By right we should disclaim their FS but since the client is friends with our partner.... no choice but to issue a clean opinion. Poor increment - Really poopy increment. Unflexible working hours... Lack of manpower and staff

단점:Staff welfare too bad, including annual increment and bonus. Some managers have no idea how to be a leader. They do not care for feelings of their staff. One simple example, they like working overtime, don't even take a look at the staff sitting beside them. Don't even ask whether the staff need to go home first or not. They just assume that the staff stay all the way with them until they themselves realize that... it's time to go. Good luck if you have such a terrible manager working with you. They just do not know how to manage people, despite of their manager / senior manager title.

If you are really an international accounting firm as you so proudly proclaim to be, then please act like one. The welfare and culture here are almost non existence and staff morale is very low.

More ranks to climb in audit to slow down your progression Lower than market pay (always recycle their excuses to justify the low increment) Adopting work methods that are no longer relevant. Spend more time doing work instead of thinking. Management prefers fool proof method using forms to cover... all aspects that they think would go wrong rather than placing trust in their staff to put up a good work. Lack of trust in staff Dishonest in telling people that the firm actually gives a Rolex watch upon your 10th anniversary but capping the amount at $5,000. Nowadays, $5K cannot buy you a Rolex.

Nothing postive during my tenure there. The saving grace might be the good colleagues i have when i was attached out.
단점:- Low pay - Promotion increment is pathetic. - Poor communication across the board, especially so between the HR and the so called line managers. - No guaranteed 13th month bonus, even though the firm is doing well based on their accounts - Forced to attend their quarterly meetings on weekends to brainwash you on how "badly" the firm is doing so there is no need to pay bonus to staff In short, just reject... any offers from them.

If you got interviewed for a job at Accountstaff which is part of RSM, do not accept. They promise you good career prospects etc. It is all a scam. I went in and i learnt nth.
단점:Pay is low,benefits are bad as well. Within RSM, Accountstaff is at the bottom of the organisation. You are outsourced to that company because that company do not want to do that job bcos either it is really mundunely heavy, or it is simply a no brainer job. basically it is jus some junk clearing. You do not learn anything from it. You have to face your own project manager's standards as well as the company which you have been outsourced to. U basically have no sense of belonging to either the company nor RSM. When you decided to quit, your manager will write bad reviews about you even if you are just an average worker.
