Have you ever realized how many good reviews suddenly appear whenever a negative one is posted? This is amazingly clever.
단점:I had to leave for a 3 weeks sick leave due to heavy health issues (partially triggered by work). Upon telling my manager I needed to go to the hospital ASAP, she asked if I still had time to hand things over first. Upon returning, she mostly explained to me that I really put them in a difficult position. Need I really say more to you about how much you should avoid that company, ignoring any good review you... might see here? As a Project Manager dealing mainly with Search Engine Marketing projects, I was faced with: - Nonsensical tools leading to a huge amount of boring manual work - Absolutely no support on initiatives, i.e. the company wants to win business they actually cannot handle, don't have the people or expertise for - Silly management that says "yes" to everything and then blames all issues on their employees It was just toxic. Seeing colleagues quit one after the other, seeing the remaining ones go on meds, cry at their desks because of stress and managers with strictly no social skills & poor people management harassing them. Given the chance today, I would honestly take anything other than that.

Flexible working arrangements, people can work at home when needed, and a good few employees are working remotely – all over the globe. Work is interesting, with a lot of opportunity for people with initiative and drive. The company is still small enough that your voice gets heard all the way up the chain, and staff is kept informed on company development. Lately also some good initiatives around social activities.... Pay on par or higher than the rest of the industry.
단점:Company size puts some limit on advancement – only so many places you can go, but expect this to change as the company continues steady growth.

The people are great who work there on a personal level. They have the potential to do great things. Asking for constant pay cuts, staff still performs despite the let downs
단점:Bad management decisions. Running a business requires listening to your employees and empowering them to be creative and succeed. For the last 7 years the company has struggled to pull themselves out of the hole with no success. Sales operations are a shambles as those hired to lead sales aren't qualified. Managers and leads are appointed but aren't allowed to make decisions. Project managers, and finance... people having to constantly lie to suppliers isn't a way to do business because you can't pay your bills on time.

단점:First of all, a word of warning: Do not ignore any of the bad reviews on this site, I did, and I deeply regret it, because by taking on a role at Vistatec I found myself in one of the most difficult situations I had to deal with in my adult life. The positive reviews are nothing but a ridiculously obvious forgery carried out by the company’s managers in a desperate attempt to wash away its terrible (well deserved)... reputation. There are so many things that are fundamentally wrong with Vistatec that I don’t even know where to start. Granted, the localisation industry is a challenging and highly competitive sector, and also granted, LSPs tend to be demanding work environments, but Vistatec is on a league of its own. To begin with, this is the type of company that allows its clients to run its business (a classic of bad business practices): no standard procedures, every client’s own particular demands are accommodated for, no matter how unreasonable. And quite honestly, clients are not to be blamed, they only expect what the signed up for, if you sell an unrealistic service, you get unrealistic expectations, and who pays for it? Answer: those at the bottom, who are under enormous pressure from middle management to deliver what cannot be done without a minimum set of conditions: a reasonable schedule, tools that work, available resources, etc. Soon I realized that initiative and a drive to change and improve things would always be met with disapproval. The more or less explicit answer was always “you’d better obey, don’t question the way things have always been done, do as you’re told, and do not air your thoughts, or you’ll be in trouble”. This is not a company you can bring experience and insight to. As someone put it to me in private, “knowledge and experience in the sector counts for nothing here, what you need to know is how things work at Vistatec”. This policy is reflected in the staff: project management and basic project coordination are carried out by very young people with little or no experience, mostly from foreign countries with high unemployment rates (Spain, Italy, Eastern Europe), because they have no bargaining power, and they need that experience on their CVs (the only reason that could possibly justify working at Vistatec). Someone figured out that this kind of workforce would be docile, unquestioning and accepting of sub-standard pay (their salaries are scandalously low for the ever growing cost of living in Dublin), and that’s the HR policy they went for. That someone also figured out that middle-management was best in the hands of middle-aged Irish people with little or no understanding of the translation process (most of them don’t even speak a foreign language), and whose mediocrity guarantees their loyalty (their only merits are having been there long enough and their inability to get a better job somewhere else). In short: This is a company for yes-men and yes-women, not for someone who wants to make a difference, and have a career progression (the opportunities for promotion are close to 0). As a result of which, there is little incentive to improve the way things are done, and nothing ever does, indeed. Dated, and ridiculously complicated, cumbersome, time-consuming and unreliable tools and processes are used as devices for procrastination and gas-lightning. Vistatec is a psychology textbook case of toxic work environment, most members of staff end up adopting a passive-aggressive attitude that’s a far cry from the most basic team spirit that should be expected at any minimally efficient organization. Even the facilities are dismal (the carpet is filthy!). There is something nightmarish about the place, going to work every day was a horrible experience. If this doesn’t make for a pretty picture, to make matters worse, Vistatec tolerates (and I would dare say, encourages) bullying at the work place. HR is aware of the situation and does nothing about it. I guess the reason is they use bullying as a psychological technique to break people down, undermine their confidence and exert total control over them, but it didn’t work with me. I am no spring chicken, I’ve been in the wars and have worked in really terrible places under enormous amounts of stress; I’m not a millennial snowflake that can’t take pressure, criticism, and antagonism, but the constant, relentless, insidious and vindictive form of harassment I had to put up with from my manager at Vistatec was just too much to take, and the job was just not worth keeping. The case should have been reported to the Irish Workplace Relations Commission, but it was made clear to me that I would not get the company’s backing on this, so I had no choice but to walk out on the job, because it was beginning to take a big toll on my mental and physical health, so I did. Believe me, I have never walked out on a job and into unemployment before, it’s not an easy decision, but I’m really glad I left that hellhole.

Vistatec was on the whole a good place for me to advance my career as project manager. I improved significantly my communication skills over email and on the phone with both vendors and clients, which has proven extremely valuable in my next roles. I also learned a good bit of Excel through the countless hours of spreadsheet project tracking (I heard this has changed a bit for the better now) and overall gained a... deep understanding of how the Localization industry works. I know some reviews mention issues with HR, but my experience with them was mostly positive. I do think they had a chance to take onboard feedback which they ultimately chose to ignore, but I did feel supported when I reached out for help most of the times.
단점:I never felt like I could put my background in Localization to much use while I was there. Having experience serves close to no purpose when you work with sales reps and clients who lack understanding of translation. In fact, it can work against you: as a project manager in Vistatec, I had little influence over the services sold, vendors used and delivery terms, so I would find myself at times coordinating projects... I felt would be far from a linguistic success, which was frustrating. The sad truth is that most colleagues I came across would acknowledge this situation as “it is what it is” or take comfort in arguing that the entire industry is the same. This culture of complacency and resistance to change is very unlikely to retain any young talent, so I would not be surprised if the company disappeared once senior management were close enough to retirement. It will become increasingly difficult for Vistatec to scale and survive without younger talent who know the latest about localization tools, machine learning or programming languages. To be clear, the minority I came across who who did embrace change have all left the company by now. The frustration Glassdoor reviews clearly display is fueled by the resistance they were met with time and time again when trying to improve things... not to mention the unpaid, excessive overtime on top of salaries who were at times quite low.

단점:No need to hold a PhD in content analysis to spot the impersonally fake positive reviews on this company. Vistatec is a terrible employer, the only thing they are good at is marketing themselves as being what they are not: cutting edge, transparent, and inclusive. The internally developed tools provided are out of date, unsuitable for the job and often just don't work. Vistatec is completely behind in terms of... systems and tools. Their business model as a whole is flawed and they don't add sufficient value to make big margins so their strategy is to pretty much always say yes to the client and then put pressure on everyone downstream to deliver. The culture at Vistatec is TOXIC. Anything goes for so long as jobs are delivered on time to the client: pressure to work overtime (unpaid), bullying, isolation of team members to prevent other members becoming aware of the bullying, etc. Not all line managers are bullies at Vistatec but those who are can do so with impunity. HR and middle management just look the other way and bullies are even been promoted. Working from home being listed as a benefit is an indication of just how poor the benefits offered are. Also, the approval process of requests to work from home is not very transparent and is impacted by how much HR likes/dislikes you. Needless to say that all the above as well as the low wages result in a rather high turnover. If you have any other options for employment, do yourself a favour and take a job at a company that sees value in its people rather than a company like Vistatec.

Working from home privileges are useful (but HR only grant it if they like you) I made some good friends (who have all left now too)
단점:Poor people management and completely unsupportive HR. If you get on their bad side they will make life hard for you. I've heard of several cases where staff reported bullying and no action was taken. Issues raised in exit interviews by staff leaving are not addressed. If you have a problem HR would rather you just quit. Salaries are very poor and generally not enough to pay rent and have a decent standard of... living in Dublin. Raises are hard to get, even if you take an additional roles and responsibilities. There is a defensive atmosphere where all departments are just trying to pin blame on each other and a huge resistance to change. This has resulted in loads of pointless and outdated processes that waste time and frustrate you. There is a lack of respect for staff: unpaid and unacknowledged overtime is standard and if you flag issues to management you are basically told to deal with them yourself.

Reading some reviews on here encouraged me to write my own review. In my opinion Vistatec is a human company, treats employees well, provides good job security, well respected in the industry, always improving and most good people do very well here - either by carving out a career for themselves within or using the experience as a platform to opportunities outside of Vistatec
단점:My experience is that there is much growth with some systems and processes needing to catch up, and this can be a slow process, making for a challenging environment that may not suit everyone. I have many years of experience in this industry so for me personally I enjoy problems and the opportunities that result from helping solve them but I have seen less experienced people and / or those with a negative... disposition struggle with the challenges. At times there is little room for creativity which can be frustrating, but that’s just the nature of this industry.

Top management are very wooden rude and ignorant. staff being bullied 24/7 365.

HR tries to micro-manage everything employees do and is only flexible with some people; - outdated tools and unnecessarily complicated procedures; - middle and senior management does not trust employees and treats them like children, creating a stressful environment; -... managers are hardly qualified for the job they do. Most of them have no working experience outside of this company. They don't understand the industry and are not open to any type of changes; - no collaboration between departments; - really low morale: employees are continuously leaving the company, but nobody addresses the situation.

Working from home option is great. The company is also investing and growing so there are good career opportunities. Nice bunch of people to work with. Really strong on technology and this shows with some really amazing clients too. Overall my experience has been really positive.
단점:Localisation is always challenging! Customers are demanding and technology keeps changing, but this has been the case in my previous companies. Personally, I like a challenge.

Flexitime Scheme lets you enter as early as 7:30, or as late as 10:00. Free coffee, milk and tea. Water-boilers, toasters, microwaves available. International (mostly European, but with Asian, Latin American and African elements) workforce. Facilities and areas are sufficiently clean and tidy. While turnover is apparently high, top management is experienced. Computer hardware is responsive enough. CAT tools... licenses are up-to-date. HR organizes small-scale events and competitions throughout the year. Anniversary and end-of-year parties. it is possible to ask to work from home on certain days. Some members work from their respective countries on a daily basis. Content type is diverse (this depending on which division you work.) While a few colleagues are some of the oddest people you will meet, and others couldn't care less about you, most are friendly and willing to chat over lunch. You could be paid certainly less. LUAS is nearby; Dbuses 13/40/123 as well.
단점:Top management does not engage in communication (even non-verbal) with anyone, not even for small talk. While I could be generalizing, this has been my experience. I understand they come from an IT background, but this is a small company after all where people meet in the aisles all the time. The amount of manual work involved in keeping track of projects due to a lack of investment (in time and money, IMHO) in... software solutions creates inefficiencies in how time is used. This will apparently be fixed in the coming months company-wide, but it could potentially bring problems in other fronts (PLUNET.) Due to the point above, it's easy to make mistakes and experience frustration, particularly when multitasking is needed. Documentation for newcomers (and in general) is spread across different folder structures. This could be easily streamlined. Being based in Dublin means you will spend a great part of your salary in accommodation. The linguistic content of the job is scarce. If you wanted to perform translation work, look elsewhere. Chairs are as ergonomic as a medieval stock. According to my colleagues, career advancement is a rarity, and might be better obtained by swapping companies.

I learned a lot around communications as I had regular direct contact with our clients. The staff are very nice and I got on well with them. We had flexible working hours which was great. There was a lot of bespoke technology which helped us be more efficient with the day to day tasks. There were also pretty regular events for the staff. Easy to get to, with the Luas and bus system. Also, parking was available.
단점:The company did not have many opportunities to progress, as it’s quite a flat structure. Having said that they do try and promote from within when the opportunity arises.

Something to add to your CV
단점:Do, if you need some experience to add to your CV. One of those where after a while you feel scammed because of huge salary differences, bonuses that are mean to keep secret for the same work and never discussed with your colleagues under the non-verbalized thread that the industry is very small and you need to keep a nice smile in case some one knows someone. Not to talk about the non paid over time. Also I have... never seen so many colleagues crying at work and HR not taking any action.

None. Seriously. My colleagues and myself have told our friends how awful it was, and yet when we gave them examples they still were shocked.
단점:- Stressful environment (leading employees to take sick leave or medication!!); - Completely idiotic management with money wasted on bad ideas, leaving no money left for the good ones; - Outdated tools and procedures. I cannot emphasize that however "usual" the above may seem, I have known such issues everywhere, but no company has given me the amount of nervous breakdowns and shot my self-confidence like... Vistatec did.

Professional & Friendly colleagues. Some flexibility in work from home though it is micro-managed. HR does try and organise company events.
단점:Think Global... the motto but not the practice. Small minded micro-management of professional and experienced staff. One rule covers all. If your one day in the office or 10 years you are mistrusted in the same way. You are told there is work from home but it is micro-managed and is not flexible. Clients all over the world but you are tied to your office desk.. unless you work extra time from home after you've... worked your day. No management of hours worked by staff... overtime required continuously but those who work overtime constantly are never queried or supported. No compensation in time or money for overtime. No bonuses. No salary increases. Work environment needs investment. Chairs are 10 years old and no longer fit for purpose. No management of stress a lot of which is caused by some middle management who are allowed to terrorise their team. No training plans. No career path. This is purely a job. Not a career.

The salary is fair and so far has been paid on time. That is really the only pro of working for Vistatec.
단점:No career progression. No compensation whatsoever for working overtime (and there is a lot of overtime). Employees are constantly discouraged from taking any holidays. Middle and senior management has no strategic vision whatever and are deeply ignorant about their clients and industry developments, which results in constant micromanagement of PMs. No learning opportunities of any kind. No training provided. The... company is technologically obsolete, so don't expect to use any relevant IT tools at all. Vistatec is only suitable for those in desperate need of a pay check.

Some nice co-workers that are no longer there due to pay cuts and bullying.
단점:Constant pay cuts. Employees live in fear. Suppliers are not being paid. Financially unstable. I moved to Dublin to work here only to find out 3 months later that they were going bankrupt. They cut my salary and pushed me and recent hires to leave. Ultimately, they started bullying people that had been working really hard for years, sacrificing their personal lives and doing overtime regularly, only to avoid paying... their redundancy. Dishonest management. Dodgy area. Don't believe the positive reviews, they are fake.

I worked at Vistatec for two years and had a wonderful experience. Staff and management were hard working and very nice to deal with. Everyone was well looked after and working environment was friendly and calm. HR planned fun events. Training was always provided and staff did their best to put customer needs first. Hours were flexi and there was always opportunities for promotion and growth within the company.... Overall a great experience.
단점:I had no bad experiences with Vistatec. Always took care of their staff , great working environment and ample opportunity to grow and progress.

Local management in Dublin office are the company owners so the buck stops there which is good for the employees based there. Good team of people to work with makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Has been through some tough times in last few years but is now expanding and hiring.
단점:Small company trying to grow based on sales revenue alone means static salaries and no bonuses. Project managers have a thankless task and lack support. Management by spreadsheet causes dxcessive unnecessary workloads.

my position there allowed me work with some great people and great clients. its a positive working environment, flexibility was there if required and a lot of positive changes were happening. I did learn a lot during my time there. I have worked for other companies in the industry and overall vistatec would compare favourably to these in my experience.
