I love working for a global company, you feel part of a HUGE organization. No day is ever the same. You do not fear to share your ideas as you know they will be considered. No hierarchy!

단점:Dysfunctional doesn't come close to describing this place. Upper 'management' severely inadequate and inexperienced. No direction. Senior management is unfocused, makes decisions to move forward on decisions because they are 'new and shiny' and not in the best long term interest of the company growth. Could be a great place

Do your research abt this organization.they try to pass themselves as an organization trying to grow etc but it's a cover. There are underlying current of politics that are completely crazy. They treat the women in the organization in an extremely subservient manner...literally! There is no such thing as management.......no hr, no hr rules...everything a typical organization is used to. Decisions are by committee only and only after long time...

I have been working for UBT for a bit over a year now and I have nothing but good words to say about the organisation! below are some points which back up my statement: - The culture is one that makes you strive to be the best you can be. - Because UBT gives a rebate back to OneSchool, you feel like you are working towards a higher purpose which is inspiring - The management team is one that is only... interested in seeing you grow as an employee and see you succeed. - Being such a diverse organisation, you are surrounded by employees who share their experiences and how they succeeded so I can learn from it. - You are put through a lot of training courses to make you better at what you do. ...I could go on forever but I think the idea that I am trying to portray is that UBT is an incredible place to work for and I have no regrets in accepting my offer to join this organisation. Top marks UBT!!

Weekly shared lunches, sporadic morning/afternoon tea shouts, daily barista coffees, flexibility with work/personal appointments. Work is constantly changing and evolving. There is such a wide range of personalities which is fantastic. Everyone is inclusive and friendly.

Open and supportive culture. Very friendly staff. You really get the impression people enjoy working here and want to be here. Great office space and some wonderful perks too such as free fruit, decent coffee and free lunches.

I am frankly amazed by the negative comments surrounding the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC) community. This is an enterprising and entrepreneurial business and the community openly embraces the wider community (non PBCC) to help them achieve their goals, all of which... are completely benevolent

The only constant about UBT is change... you need to be able to embrace this from day one to be effective and contribute to this fast paced business.

It is a supportive environment with open communication channels. The negative reviews regarding Plymouth Brethren in my opinion are unfounded. I am not a community member and find the Plymouth Brethren to be very friendly, supportive and open.
단점:Benefits are all over the place. Some are fantastic, some are woeful! Free lunch and the car is great. Holiday entitlement and notice periods are frankly dreadful

Modern office - the technology too, such as the cameras watching every move of everybody and the listening devices - this was even tested with fictitious comments that were later brought up and queried by Brethren management!! It's a great place to work if you enjoy uneasy atmospheres, strange undercurrents and false niceness.
단점:Will stab you in the back as soon as look at you if you are not part of their cult. When you have served your usefulness they will get rid of you - unless a member of their cult. For a people who are supposed to have high integrity, honesty and trustfulness all I can say is they have a distant relationship to any of these virtues. I know for fact that a lot of the positive feedback on here was made by the... Brethren themselves. Make no mistake the extent they will go to in order to appear nice. They hold anyone outside their secretive community in utter disregard.

It looks wonderful...when you are on the outside looking in. The offices are very smart. There is free parking. The perks are generous and plentiful. The interviewers have a ready answer for every question you put to them. The company is large and clearly prosperous. There are some really, genuinely, nice people working there. However...
단점:After a few days working at UBT Exchange Place Warwick you start to feel nervous. There is a strange tension in the air. (The air, by the way, is artificial, like the smiles, the light, the plants, and most of the positive reviews here on Glassdoor. It is impossible to open any of the windows. That should have sounded a warning bell. Too bad I didn't notice it sooner.) Changes occur randomly and without warning.... Your role could be substantially altered 2 or even 3 times in a single month. With every change there is the assurance that this will be for the better, and we have to learn to be accepting of change....so you go along with it, even though much of the plans seem badly thought through...if they have been thought through at all. You start to realise that the strange, creepy feeling is not affecting just you. Sick days are WELL above the national average, despite the management attempts to reduce this by refusing to pay sick leave unless you happen to be well-connected to the powers that be. When you go outside for a brief break at lunch time, you feel a strange dread when re-entering the building, which now seems cold, soulless, dark, and uninviting. You start to voice some of your doubts to your colleagues, usually when well away from the building itself, for fear of being overheard or electronically eavesdropped upon. Some of these colleagues admit to the same concerns but quickly explain why they don't dare speak out. The management are powerful and terminate regularly and for little good reason. A lot of your colleagues have families to feed and care for. They are fearful of being struck off if they are seen to be "anti-management" or (the ultimate sin at UBT) "resistant to change". You realise that thinking for yourself is not only discouraged at UBT. It is actively forbidden. Any suggestions that you make are treated as a threat to the existing structure and quickly brushed under the carpet. You become marginalised. Despite the fact you were brought on for your experience and your qualifications, suddenly it is as though none of those things even matter. You start to look for a job elsewhere.

UBT has been good to me since I started. They have offered some development opportunities and have been patient with me growing into the role. I have been given most any tool that I have requested to do the job. The office culture is one of "get stuff done" so you will have plenty of quiet to focus on the job at hand. They feed us well and keep our caffeine habit in check.
단점:When I started, I found being a non-community member amongst the Brethren community very bizarre. Not many people talked to me and it was rather lonely. This resulted in a much longer adjustment period than normal. The non-community population has grown and I have adjusted, so I don't find it all that bizarre anymore. I would say that if you are the kind of person that loves to chat throughout the day and make... good friends at work, this isn't the place. As the company is small-ish (for now) there aren't a heap of opportunities to grow in my field. The mentality isn't necessarily one of growing people for the long term, it is more about getting the job at hand done right now. Long-term thinking, in general, isn't the strength of the company. I can see people working to build strategy into the business, but this is going to take some time. Since strategy isn't at the forefront of the business, many BIG jobs come through last-minute without the time to think out a solution as you might like. It seems they want to action all ideas and make them happen RIGHT NOW.

It’s slowly getting better, UBT UK are finally coming into the modern world instead if the dark ages - but very slowly. There are some very good points, free lunch, fresh fruit available as well as tea and coffee etc. After your probation period you also get offered a company car, private healthcare and a good pension. You can learn a lot within the business and they encourage you to learn as much as you can... and take courses relevant to your role. Having said the con’s there are some community members here at UBT who are fantastic to work with, they understand the importance of getting the job complete and making profit for the company and for the schools. These people genuinely want UBT to strive and are a credit to the Community.
단점:The sick pay is dire, first 3 days is unpaid and statutory thereafter, this is only at your managers discretion to pay you too, so if you’ve genuinely been poorly and recovered within those three days, you’ll sometimes have these days missing from your salary or sometimes you won’t. Holiday pay is also awful, 20 days plus bank holidays but you’re also asked to keep three days back for when the Warwick office... closes during the Christmas break, so only 17 days holiday. You can buy more holiday which is cheaper than taking it unpaid, but why should you have to when all other companies give you 25 days holiday as standard. ‘Community’ (is what the Brethren’s call themselves), are able to get away unprofessional behaviour as management (also community) don’t know how to deal with them. I have witnessed racism, sexism, bullying and quite often they manipulate the truth, not just to ‘wider-community’ but also to their own sort, this happens quite often here in the Warwick office. I have witnessed better behaviour in a school playground than in this office. Considering the people are meant to follow a strict Christian faith, I would say some are far from this – don’t be fooled by this religious view. The week is long, an extra 5+ hours compared to other companies and they don’t offer flexi-time either. Community men work very, very long hours but don’t exactly know how to get the job done, which is why they need to have wider-community in the business to get results. Wider-community have to do the job of two or more people which means because the level of work and extra hours the pay isn’t the best, and as management positions are all filled up with community members who don’t really know what they are doing, career progression is non-existent.

Extremely team orientated and project focused. I have never felt like I have been such a part of a team before. As a non Brethren team member I was worried about what I was in for when I started, but every unsure feeling I had was put to rest fairly quickly. The team here is nothing but accepting and willing to help at the drop of hat. It is a team ethic I have never seen before.
단점:You will need good time management to keep up with the pace. If you nail that yourself though the diversity an range in your role is exciting and ensure no day is the same!

I have worked at UBT over 4 years. Its a friendly atmosphere and a lot of Global Interaction with other Regions. Attracts a wide range of expertise and talent from the wider community which creates a lot of interest and new ideas. Change is constant which creates excitement and engagement throughout the whole team.
단점:The culture has slipped in the past 6-12 months - Relationship between Management and staff isnt what it used to be. Also, flexibility isn't the same across Regions/Departments.

I joined UBT a few months ago and can say that it's one of the most technologically advanced companies I've ever worked for. The offices are really 'state of the art' and with a canteen serving free lunches every day, it's a pretty good environment. I like the way the Brethren Community and non-Community work together. It's a very proactive 'get things done' place which suits me down to the ground.
단점:You don't have a specific desk so I find myself walking around with files etc ...

Variety. Due to the nature of the business (lots of different products and services), you get the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. Projects focused on domestic and business markets. It keeps the days and weeks interesting! Opportunities to work with people around the world (UBT are in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and more). Company is really starting to embrace digital technology (it has probably been lacking in this department), which is really exciting! Good perks, including medical insurance, healthy pension, free lunch/snacks and a company car. Good set of people to work with, from all walks of life. For me, the biggest pro (and one of the defining reasons why I took the role) has been that all the profits from the company go to charitable causes. It's nice to know your hard work is helping do good – and not lining shareholders pockets!
단점:1. You can't have a beard. Wait. I'm fully bearded, and have never been asked to trim, tidy or get rid of said beard! 2. You HAVE to wear uniform. It's true that UBT do offer shirts and trousers to all – but you don't have to wear them. There is a 'smart' office wear policy. True of a lot of other corporate organisations out there. 3. All the free food at UBT is unhealthy. True, there are crisps, chocolate, and soft drinks as snacks for free. But there is also healthy fruit, salads and two hot cooked meals a week. It's a personal choice for staff. Above is my biggest 'con' of working here. We as a company need to address why these comments arise – as they have an affect on the company and all staff. This may be down to communication on our part, disgruntled former employees or just lack of understanding. You will read comments like the above on Glassdoor that may make you question the company. All I can say is – get in touch, come visit us and ask any questions you have. The office is full of good people, doing good things – with the usual daily challenges faced in every business. If you have more questions about the company and its association with the Plymouth Brethren Church (I'm not a member myself – as many other employees of the company aren't), just get in touch and come find out for yourself! The week is longer and the holidays slim. It takes a while to get used to. It can be manic, so days to work at home to 'catch up' away from the whirlwind would be advantageous to the business and staff energy!

Its an early start but an early finish at 5pm so missing rush hour traffic is always a bonus. Free food is offered but lunch breaks are limited to 30 minutes.
단점:The annual leave is terrible. You get 20 days but are forced to hold back 3 days for an xmas shut down period leaving you only 17 days annual leave. No buy back schemes and no carry overs for the next year. There is a clear divide between community and non community members. A community member in the same role can receive double the salary of what a non community member is on and as they do not attend university they are often unskilled. There is a culture of if your face does not fit you are out of the door which only seems to apply to non community members and the management has no real structure or plan to work to

I joined the company mid 2016 and I have to say, I wish I had done a little more research. The only positives I have taken from this role is that the early finishes have allowed me to spend extra time with my family and the free lunches have saved me a little extra money. I have made some good friends here that I socialise with out of work, but non of them are community members as they will not engage with us.
단점:When you read the reviews on websites like this you always have to take what's said with a pinch of salt as people sometimes have very personal reasons for what they say but it's sad to say that the negative reviews on her are spot on. I am not privy to everything that goes on in the office but I have to say I have witnessed discrimination based on race and sexuality, a culture of bullying staff, poor communication... and management and a very real threat of uncertainty about anyone's role if they have been employed less than two years. What one of the other reviews said about if you are not a community member you are not valued and have no rights is spot on. I have seen people exit the business on more than one occasion just because they did not agree with something - that is not the sort of environment that people come to work for. UBT claims to be a company run on Christian values but from what i have seen, they are the most cut throat non Christian people I have ever met.

With over 40 years career history behind me I find it almost unbelievable that I can find no positive words to say abut this organisation and its related organisation Focus Learning Trust
단점:The organisation behind UBT look on outsiders as lower class and have demonstrated time and again that they put no value on the lives of people outside the community. Their 'management' style is almost non existent, they do not tolerate individuals right to privacy for example non straight people are not welcome within the organisation with comments being made such as 'we don't want our children exposed to them',... Employees have little to no rights with contracts drafted in ways that allow a culture of paying people off to shut up and walk away if they disagree with something. Career progression is non existent as the community only exist to serve their own and if you are not part of the community you cannot get into a management role. Their HR function is non existent and their payroll is about as reliable as public transport. You are not allowed to talk about your personal life in the office, you can only sit at certain tables for lunch. If a community member makes a complaint there is no fair policy to be able to defend yourself if you are not part of them and you are automatically guilty.

Provided incredible training and coaching and helped me to grow personally. The purpose of the company is inspiring. If you ever get an opportunity to work for this company you are one lucky person. I worked for them for 6 1/2 years and it was the best 6 1/2 years of my life. Their mission and purpose is the best and they do a great job of fulfilling it.
단점:In the past part of the mission was to provide employment. While an admirable offer, it has lead to the company employing some staff without the needed skill set or right attitude. So a couple of the grumpy reviews here are most likely persons who really should never have made it through the interview process.

I have worked for UBT for nearly a year in a management role. I am not part of the Plymouth Brethren community and have not experienced any of the discrimination comments a previous review has stated. People are recruited for their expertise and professionalism regardless of gender, ethnicity or whether they have a beard! I have found the company to be very caring towards it's employees with an open door policy. It... is an ambitious forward thinking company, open to new ideas.

I have work for UBT for a number of years. Staff are well looked after families are valued there is plenty of opportunity for training and development, benefits are excellent, There is a friendly atmosphere and everyone is listened to. You will not get bored at UBT as there are always new challenges and ideas.
단점:Like any fast growing company, there are growing pains and you sometimes need to wear two hats. But what a great bunch of people to grow and build a culture and company with. If you don't like change then this may not be the best place for you.

단점:- Team -building is nearly impossible, as the underlying religion does not allow mixing members and non-members. This is CRITICAL to success. A team must be able to incorporate practices which encourage open communication and sharing, leading to increased engagement. Not possible if you can't share a coffee, eat lunch together, or similar. - There is a complete lack of leadership at the highest level. Due to... all senior management being of the same religious group, there is ZERO diversity in regards to life experience. It can't be stressed enough what a detriment this is to an organization that is struggling to excel, with really great staff. - Senior management has to seriously decide on their long-term goals, and define a strategy to meet them. Currently every new "flashy" salesman that comes calling with an improvement program gets their attention. New programs are picked, started, and promptly dropped once the next snake oil salesman comes calling. The path to success is actually not hard. But you must determine what the measurement of success is FIRST. - Open office environment not conducive to managing a team. There is just too many requirements for privacy when dealing with coaching, performance, and customer service escalation, to have everyone bunched together. Open office is fine, BUT there must be some segregation, and accessible break-out rooms.

단점:- The open office environment was fairly loud, and noisy, which can be distracting. - Office was outside of the city, so had to travel a fair distance if you lived inside the city. - Takes too much direction from Head office in a different country without examining the current countries culture and intricacies. - Moot point: If you do your research you will find that it is related to a religious organization.... Truthfully, you don’t really notice it at all while working there, and it is a very secular environment. There is the odd thing you will notice, but you will find cliques and things like that in absolutely any office environment.

UBT has great values when it come to their clients which I respect and appreciate. They treat everyone fair and are sympathetic to everyone's needs, staff and clients. Joining UBT was like a breath of fresh air from my previous company, who worked us long and hard without any appreciation for the sacrifices we had to make to get the job done. I can highly recommend UBT as a great company to work for. The pay is... fair, work and life balance if prefect, and they offer great benefits for health care and appointments.
단점:For me, location. However the positive work environment makes up for the distance.

단점:There tends to be a higher pay scale for people within the religious organization. Formal office environment - Dress codes are in effect (there previously was a uniform allowance provided) Timesheet tracking. Open office space with cubicle layout with static white noise machine to camouflage office noise. An effort is being made to unite the two teams of employees and there are efforts being made on a... continual basis to improve the workplace environment and attitude.

I have worked in companies of all shapes and sizes and with different management structures. I can honestly say UBT at Warwick is a lovely place to work. What I noticed at first was how friendly and kind everyone was. I feel looked after and everyone is considerate. Everyday lunch is provided and health and safety – the wellbeing of staff - is of paramount importance to the management team. Before joining, I... had read through the reviews on this site about UBT. I can only assume the posts were from disgruntled employees with narrow minds. I work for UBT based in Warwick, UK and the reviews are not at all accurate. As for a strange underlying agenda that runs through the company; the only things that run through this company are honesty, integrity, trust, support and hard work. Women are not treated unfairly at all. I am female and hold a senior position within the company. The offices are modern and well equipped. The company is very generous in its charitable giving, having made sizable donations to Air Ambulance, Haiti Disaster and Nepal to name a few.
단점:Because of the caring side of the company, food (not just lunch – which you choose and order every day, but also crisps, yoghurts, biscuits, cakes, chocolates, boiled sweets etc) and drinks (not just quality coffee and luxury hot chocolate but drinks such as orange juice, cans of cola and other fizzy drinks and bottled water) that you can help yourself to whenever you want, you do have to go the gym more often to... make sure you don’t begin to occupy more space!

Good training opportunities. Some good staff, although the best ones are being pushed out one by one. Hope they do UBT for constructive dismissal because that is what it amounts to. Shame none of the "management" at UBT Exchange Place Warwick ever learn and put into practice what they preach.
단점:Dog-eat-dog doesn't begin to describe it. Very, very juvenile workplace. Childish behaviour from grown adults is astonishing and has to be seen to be believed. They promote themselves as a training company promoting great business principles, then do the exact opposite themselves. Wondering how they can be so successful? It's because they have a captive market. Working there is like working in a bank in the 80s,... only with more tantrums.
